FAQ

Do you accept my insurance?

I do not accept insurance, as hypnosis is not covered by insurance.

What is hypnosis?

Hypnosis is a natural state of relaxation and/or level of inner focus that the average individual reaches on a daily basis. We all experience various levels of consciousness each day by way of falling asleep and sleeping, contemplation and repetition, reading, watching TV, driving, meditation, or daydreaming. These various levels of consciousness also correspond to the four main brainwave lengths of Beta, Alpha, Theta and Delta states where the Alpha/Theta state is most experienced with the subconscious mind and where hypnosis and self-hypnosis takes place. According to the late Dr. Allen Chips, DCH., “Usual Altered States of Consciousness” refers to sleeping, day dreaming, or biochemical shifts such as fever, or other drug usage. “Applied Altered States of Consciousness” refer to meditation, prayer, and creative visualization and are all forms of hypnosis.

Can a person’s memory be erased?

No. But a certified hypnotherapist can help a person transform a memory that is causing problems.

Can everyone be hypnotized?

Yes, provided the individual has normal physiological and psychological functioning and therefore the ability to relax and concentrate. There is a positive correlation between a person’s willingness to relax and the ability to undergo hypnosis.

Do people under hypnosis go to sleep?

No, one should not expect to go to sleep. Instead the mind is in a state of hyper-awareness that feels very relaxing. If one does feel as if falling asleep, the mind will still accept all suggestions given and can be further strengthened by listening to the recorded session.

Do people under hypnosis lose their will?

No. Hypnosis cannot detach the ego. People who are outgoing and want to have fun and relax usually influence the success of stage hypnosis. Hypnosis for healing is entirely different and an individual can accept or reject any suggestion given and awaken if they want.
